Order of the Arrow @ the 2013 Jamboree PDF Print E-mail
Planing for the 2013 Jamboree is already underway. On July 10th, the Order of the Arrow announced its plans for Project 2013. Project 2013 is recruiting 700 Arrowmen to serve on staff at the National Scout Jamboree. Arrowmen will be able to staff as a: Jamboree Trek Guide, OA Service Corps Member, or Day of Service Guide. Arrowmen will also staff the Indian Village.

The two newest positions, Jamboree Trek Guides and Day of Service Guides, will be responsible for taking troops out on different days. Trek Guides will run an all day program that includes a four-hour, four-mile hike to the top of Garden Ground Mountain.

Along the way Scouts will experience an interpretive program. At the top they will enjoy lunch, followed by the afternoon full of games and demonstrations. As a Trek Guide you will be responsible for helping run the program.

Jamboree Day of Service guides will help guide troops who participate in a day of service. Service will either be in the local community, in the National River, or on the Summit site itself. The guides will provide leadership and help facilitate the projects.
